Who we follow

We follow every Senator and Representative.

All 100 Senators and 435 Representatives. We count the bills they write, the votes they show up for and the votes they skip. Same rules for everybody.

Some write a mountain of bills and get none passed. Others write a few and get them signed. We show you which is which.

What we watch

Then we follow every bill. Most never make it.

A bill is an idea for a new law. It has to survive an obstacle course. Most get ignored. Some get voted down. A few get signed. We show you exactly where each one is stuck, and who’s pushing it.

  1. 1. Introduced

A member writes it and drops it in the box.

  2. 2. Committee

A small group decides if it lives.

IGNOREDMost bills end here. No vote. No news.
  3. 3. Both votes

The House and the Senate must say yes.

VOTED DOWNEnough “no” votes and it’s dead.
  4. 4. President’s desk

    Sign it, or veto it.

    VETOEDBack to square one.
  5. 5. It’s LAW

    Now it applies to you.

Quick questions

Straight answers. No fine print games.

Is it really free?

Yes. Free to look around, free to register, no credit card. There are no ads on PORKER.

Who is behind it?

PORKER is an independent civic-information website. It isn’t part of any government, campaign, party or PAC. Every number comes from official public records, and the sources are listed on the About page.

Questions or corrections? Email support@porker.vote.

Is it biased?

No. We hate them all equally. Every count, tag and score comes from a written rule, and the same rule applies to every member, whatever their party. You can read the rules on How we calculate.

One thing to know: ratings and votes on PORKER are citizen opinion, not an official poll or an election.

What do you do with my data?
  • An account is optional, and it never needs your real name.
  • We keep your email and whatever you choose to save: your location, topics, answers, ratings and watchlists.
  • We only use it to add up group totals and spot trends, and to personalize what you see.
  • Your votes show up only as part of group totals. Never your name.
  • We never sell, rent or trade your data, and we don’t build ad profiles.
  • Cancel your account and we delete what you saved (apart from short-lived security logs).

The full details are on the Privacy page.

How does a bill become law?
  1. A member introduces it.
  2. A committee studies it. Most bills stop here and are never heard from again.
  3. The House and the Senate both have to vote yes.
  4. The President signs it (it becomes law) or vetoes it.

If it isn’t law when the two-year Congress ends, it dies and has to start over. That’s the Countdown at the top of the page.
